A scratch built 5 inch gauge Simplex style 0-6-0 steam locomotive sold at British Toy Auctions for more than £1800 recently. The locomotive named ‘Eleanore’ was built by Mr. Henry Webster of Liverpool over a period of years and is dated ‘1967’ to the front. The vendor stated that the locomotive was fired on a couple of occasions but was never operated on track. The green liveried locomotive features a pressure gauge in its cab with water level sight glass and controls, and measured 85cms (L) x 25cms (W) x 35cms (H). Two further 5 inch models are to be offered during the Autumn and more details will follow shortly.
