A rare Edwardian Gebruder Bing tinplate clockwork De Dion car came up for auction at British Toy Auctions this week. It was offered with a functioning hand brake and steering but with its original steering wheel missing, and although there were a few other minor faults and losses, the clockwork motor used to operate the rear wheels was in working order. The hammer price was £400 (£520 with BP and other fees)
